CAP Money CourseAt Perth Baptist Church, we have become involved with CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY, a charity which provides debt counselling services and money education. We run money education courses (“CAPMoney”) in Perth Baptist Church. CAPMoney is a three-session course which runs over three consecutive weeks. Each session lasts around 2 hours, with a 30-minute DVD, and the opportunity for group discussion (optional) or one-to-one discussion with a money coach. The course is completely free and confidentiality is guaranteed. The people running the course have been trained by Christians Against Poverty as money coaches. They are not financial advisers, and financial advice is not provided. CAPMoney is described as “a comprehensive yet astonishingly simple money management course to help you get, and then stay in control of, your finances”. It is not just for people who have financial problems, but for those who would like to manage their money better. After completing the course, if it is clear that there are serious debt issues, we can refer participants to Christians Against Poverty in Bradford for further assistance and debt counselling. (This is only available to those who have completed the CAPMoney course first.) The next course is scheduled to take place shortly. If you would like further information or would like to attend, please contact Linda Scott by emailing:
We believe that the course can be of help to many people in the current financial climate. Here's some useful CAP Money links: www.capuk.org, www.capmoney.org, www.capmoney.org/findacourse.
